Little Lambs - Infants

Cuddly Bears - Toddlers

Children 6 weeks to 18 months

Our Infant program provides an educational, nurturing environment designed to stimulate your baby’s curiosity and development. We use  safe, age-appropriate toys chosen specifically to meet an infant’s unique developmental needs. Each infant is provided individual attention through rocking, holding, playing and conversations. Our caregivers work with families to meet the individual needs of each baby and develop a schedule based on infant’s needs and family goals.

Scheduled activities are performed every day, for example:

  • “floor time” for developing gross motors skills – crawling, rolling over, and sitting up!
  • “finger time” for developing fine motor skills – pincer reflex, eye-hand coordination!
  • “book time” for developing cognitive skills – thinking, listening, and associating!
  • “outdoor time” for fresh air and change of environment during the warmer months!
  • “sleepy time” for necessary rest time!

Christian music can be heard throughout the day in our Infant room. We feel that introducing the name of Jesus, even at this young age, is so important in the character development of children. Research suggests  the first 5 years of life are crucial stepping stones to the adult life by shaping the belief system and decision making abilities.

It also provides an enriching environment with activities that are designed to enhance your child’s total development, while making it fun!

Daily activities include:

  • “Gym time” for developing strength and coordination.
  • “Craft time” for developing fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination.
  • “Dramatic play” for developing social and communication skills.
  • “Book time” for developing cognitive skills-learning and listening.
  • “Outdoor time” for fresh air and an opportunity to enhance their social skills.
  • “Free play time” which allows each child to express their individuality.
  • “Bible time” to continue building each child’s personal relationship with Jesus.
  • “Sleepy time” helps alleviate irritability and rejuvenates energy.

During the preschool years, children have more in-depth exposure regarding behavior, feelings, and social skills; as well as academic skills such as letters, numbers, and improving fine motor skills. They begin a new adventure of the environment through active exploration and interaction. We recognize this, and have activities that are based on the children’s interests through a variety of learning areas.

Chillin’ Cheetahs is a Before and After School Program for children attending Monac and McGregor schools in the Washington Local School District. Children are provided with a comfortable space for exploring their environment, working on homework, interacting with other children, and engaging in hands on activities of their own choosing. Breakfast and an afternoon snack is provided for those children in attendance.

The Cheetahs also provide a safe place for children during school breaks and snow days. On days where the school is closed, our teachers provide the children with a variety of activities that engage their interests and help them to continue learning while having fun. During the summer school break, the Chillin’ Cheetahs is turned into a 10 week summer day camp where children aged 5 to 12 engage in many hands on learning experiences which include around 3 field trips a week.

Talented Tigers - PreKindergarten

Children 3 to 5 years

We know that the early years are the most important for a child’s brain development. Our preschool curriculum is designed to enhance that development. In addition, our teachers spend much of their time actively listening to and talking with the preschoolers. This type of positive interaction encourages the development of emotional, linguistic, and social skills and enhances positive self-esteem. This age is a critical time of learning, and our curriculum prepares our students for mandatory Kindergarten evaluation testing.
